September 17, 2023 - Funfly Blackwater Swamp

Just felt like doing some funfly on my own this morning, so I headed south to the Blackwater Swamp area south of Cambridge.

Here I'm heading southeast over the Chesapeake Bay.  You can just makeout the Chesapeake Bay Bridge at center in the distance.  It's a nice day; the boaters are out in force.

Some fat cat has acquired the land on this point and is building a big mansion.

Over the Little Choptank, heading south.

Turning west, into the sun, everything is dark ... no good.

Things improved when I was able to head north and west.

A little community on Upper Hoopers Island.  Very remote.

Continuing south paralleling along Hoopers Island Bridge.

Down by Lower Hoopers Island.  Not much out here.

I make a U-turn and now looking north up Lower Hoopers Island.

Heading north out into the Honga River.  Windmill Point is dead-ahead.

Now over the Blackwater Marsh.

Very pretty.

I never get tired of flying here.

All too soon I come to the Blackwater River which heads north to Cambridge.

The river is covered with water lillies.

The Blackwater River petering out.

Passing by Cambridge and the Choptank River -- biggest river on the Delmarva peninsula.

A couple of big yachts tied up on the Choptank River.

Another monster mansion going up on the Tred Avon River.

Unbelievab le.

A couple of existing very nice mansions on the Tred Avon.   My compliments on the left one's landscaping.   You can only see things like this from the air.

This mansion is old and obsolete but still has the great waterview and dock going for it.

This waterfront palace looks like some kind of facility, not a residence.

Now this is an (over-the-top) residence.

Looks like I'm getting back to Essex Skypark just ahead of some bad weather.   I certainly got my flying fix for today!
